No, I agree that there shouldn't be a medal covering a too long time span.
The need to turf every day to catch the medal would mean people would intentionally avoid going on vacation or stay home sick to stay off business trips or similar because they can't be sure there are any turf zone to catch at the destination.
And you wouldn't want a situation where someone stays off a hospital visit or walks out with pneumonia just to not break their 11 month sequence to get that one-year medal.
