Noone has questioned that. It's just not on the same scale of work at all.

Are you 100% sure about that?

2500 takes in a low activity area were you have to increase your radius from home everyday and you also need to go off roads and take those "mulle" zones. Is a lot harder than taking 2500 zones in a high activity area were you can take the same central easy zones 3 times during the same turf session.

Yes I am, I have compared the numbers extensively.

You also forget the problem with high activity areas: You can't take all zones because a lot of them are blocked by other turfers. You can't select the optimal route because the same reason. You are often forced to climb a hill instead of taking the easy route around it.

I have not had problem often... yes need to be able change a planned route on the fly but you usually have many routes available.

Ok, an updated detalied comparison on september round 2024 with two extreme cases.

#1 AJHB (mainly London, UK) (placed #2 in the world)
#2 Nihilisten (Umeå, Sweden) (placed #70 in the world)

How much less or more did row #2 do or get compared to row #1:

#2 took 519 zones more
#2 got 1082667 points less or about 32% of #1’s score
#2 traveled 180 km less than #1 or about 90% of #1’s distance

#1 had to revisit 231 zones more than #2

#1 spent 26.4 hours less than #2 actively turfing
#1 got 555 points more per kilometer traveled than #2

How important was the PPH for each user?
#1 got 64% of the points from PPH
#2 got 32% of the points from PPH

If you compare the column with PPH from every day, #1 has one character more than #2 almost every day.
Ex:
Tuesday 1 60085 4951
Monday 2 68702 3393

PPH breakout:
#2 needs to turf 38 minutes extra per hour to keep up with #1’s PPH
#1 needs to turf 3 minutes extra per hour to keep up with #2’s PPH

This means than after sleeping 8 hours, #2 needs to turf for 307 minutes just to catch up with #1
#1 needs to turf 26 minutes to catch up to #2.

Code: Select all

Nice comparison do we also know if these turfers turfed the same way, do we have average speed for the Turf sessions?

#1 - 11 km/h
A lot of long travels all over UK. I cut at 50 km/h but you still get a higher average due to accelleration and slow streets getting counted in.

#2 - 9 km/h
Only bike and three towns, biking between them. Turfing similar to how everyone turfs around here.

Okay good but not exactly the same then... a lot of long travels all over UK is different. Still a lot of long travels around Sweden would probably not give the same pph gain.

However to make the comparison more fair travel time should be included, or compare two persons who has mostly played in their home regions.

Including travel time is easy, it's one month. If a truckdriver gets to count the driving time between cities we might as well count all the time equal for all.

No, you won't get a fair result if you count travel time instead of turf time. People don't travel across the country just to turf. If they do, they either bike and then it counts, or they drive car/train/fly and then it won't count and should not count. It's the physical exercise that counts, not how much money you have to travel.
