New Zones Walsingham, Norfolk, UK

Hi

I’m a fairly regular visitor to the Walsingham area of Norfolk. There are very few zones in North Norfolk. A smattering in Wells-next-the-Sea and one in Great Snoring.

I have suggested (a couple of times) some zones around the villages of Little Walsingham and Houghton St Giles with the aim of creating a 3 mile circular country walk. I cannot drive and cannot ride a bicycle due to a disability so cannot travel far when I’m there.

In 2022 I just achieved the Daily-180 badge before visiting the Walsingham area, which broke my run of taking 5 zones a day. I would like to achieve the 365 badge but would find this impossible whilst Walsingham is off the Turf grid. As a disabled Turfer many badges are beyond my reach but this one could be achieved as zones are created.

Walsingham is an area of national importance for Anglicans and Roman Catholics as a shrine and pilgrimage site. I know several Christian Turfers who would benefit from this development.

Many thanks and in hope :)
Caroline

Hi Caroline,

I'll be taking a look at this area over the next few weeks - some new zones should be appearing during March.

Cheers,
Fozzie

Hi Zone Makers

Is there any update on zones in this area? I’ve resubmitted my suggestions to be sure.

Still working on the 365 badge in pure hope that zones might appear in Walsingham. Next visit is due 25 August.

Thanks Team, CJDMadMoo

Hi Fozzie

That’s a brill start, cheers mate! Churches - that’s a national shrine for you!

Been like it since the 11th Century. It’s a great place and so peaceful.

Thanks again! CJDMadMoo
